Death in Haran
Genesis : 11:26-12:4
From Terah, the father of Abram, we know that initially He was wallking in God's will...
He was bringing his son, Abram, his grandson, Lot, and his daughter -in-law, Sarai, the wife of Abram, and together they set out towards God's promised land, Canaan.
When we receive the calling from God, we will be excited and have burden on it...
Meaning we are walking towards the will of God...
From the people that Terah brought...
We can see that not eveyone would follow...
This is a normal fact...
Because we think about our own benefits...
We do not have the burden...Thinking that it is not important...
Even some people are following, yet, with wrong motives...
Not doing that for God's sake...
However, though we are following the path of God...
We will be distracted...
Terah settled at Haran when he passed by there...
I believe that Haran must be a comfortable place to live...
If not, Terah will not stayed there till he died...
This means, he did not finish the journey...
So, he lost the great bleesing from God...
When we have the fire for God...
We must always pray to God to protect our heart...
Let the fire continue to burn...
So that we will not die in Haran...
We must die in Canaan...
When we feel tired...
We can take a rest...
No problem for that...
But remember!
Our destination is Canaan, don't rest too long till you feel lazy to walk on again...
If not, God will call others...
God called Abram...
Asked him to leave his country, his people and his father's household and go to the land God will show him...
Nowadays, many of us are resting in Haran...
We are feeling numb towards God's things...
Let's pray to God that we don't want to die in Haran..
Our God is a God of Mercy...
He will always give us chances if we really repent...
